ABSpro - Flame Retardant is a professional, halogen free, self-extinguishing filament which is engineered to meet the UL 94 V-0 flammability standards, meaning that the vertical burning of the filament, or 3D printed object, stops within 10 seconds.

The mixture used for our ABSpro - Flame Retardant Black compound contains a high percentage of PolyCarbonate, ABS and added halogen-free flame retardant modifiers. Even though the compound contains a high percentage of PolyCarbonate, the flame retardant modifiers allows the filament to be printed at relatively low temperatures.

*) ABSpro Flame Retardant filament is engineered to meet the UL 94 V-0 flammability standards. The ABSpro Flame Retardant material/filament thus meets the UL 94 V-0 standards based on the internal test procedure, which can be found in this document. The filament is not certified by Underwriters Laboratories itself and therefore does not have an UL number. Testing procedures have been performed in house.

    • ABSpro™ requires a printing temperature of 250-280°C.
    • When printing with ABSpro™ it is important to set your print bed temperature to its max level. A print bed temperature of 110 -120°C (or even higher) is recommended.
    • If possible we also advice to print ABSpro™ in a controlled temperature area/box in order to keep temperature fluctuations to a minimum. Because of ABSpro™’ incredible hardness and impact resistance it is more vulnerable to warping caused by temperature fluctuations and therefore it is best to keep the printing environment settings as constant as possible.
When printing with ABSpro™ you might need to tweak around a bit to obtain a good first layer adhesion. It will definitely help to add a strong adhesive slurry like ABS juice or adhesive spray like dimafix to your print bed.
