PET is one of the most trusted and commonly used plastics in the world; water bottles, food containers, clothing and more!

PET/G is stronger than just PET and can achieve very strong and sturdy prints. Our Polyester PETG premium filament, also known as glycol modified PET, or less commonly as GPET (the G means it’s been glycol modified for extra durability) is a high performance material that is highly durable and impact resistant. It is also more flexible compared to PLA or ABS and can be safely recycled.

PETG offers excellent clarity, light transmission (in the translucent colors) and high gloss. PETG is also a food contact approved material, is BPA free and prints without any odor or smell!

Once you've mastered the basics for printing with PETG, you will find it to be easy to print with and comes out great in a wide temperature range. It's great even for large flat prints due to its very low shrinkage. Combination of strength, low shrinkage, smoother finish and higher heat resistance make PETG an ideal everyday alternative to PLA and ABS.

Other features include great layer adhesion, chemical resistance including acids and water. PETG is also less prone to moisture related issues.

Our PETG filament is characterized by consistent quality, high dimensional accuracy and has been extensively tested on a variety of printers; yielding very strong and precise prints.

The Filaments.ca Brand Advantage:

It's the best selling PETG in Canada for a reason! Our premium grade PETG is a result of continually improving formulation based on feedback from our customers & the 3D printing community. Selling in such high volumes gives the Filaments.ca brand an edge over competitors by being able to analyze trends accurately and implement preventive actions to ensure the high quality of our product is maintained and improved.

All our products are stored in and shipped from our own fully controlled warehouse. Having full control over storage conditions, product packaging as well as maintaining a FIFO (First In First Out) storage system is crucial in maintaining optimal freshness of our 3D printing consumables.

3d filament net weight NET WEIGHT: 1 KG (2.2 LB)
virgin raw material 3d filaments Made from 100% Grade A Virgin Raw Materials: We've seen first hand what prints from recycled filaments can look like, issues such as visible discoloration and other inconsistencies are common. From the very beginning, we've always guaranteed in writing that our filaments are made from pure grade virgin resin, giving you consistent high quality prints, beautiful look and feel.
laser diameter controlled 3d filaments Controlled using Non-Contact Laser Diameter Gauge: Rapid, precise and repeatable measurements to exact dimensional tolerances. Such gauges allow us to maintain consistent high quality filament by automatically stopping a production line the moment a non-conforming measurement is detected. So regardless of the 3D printer you are using, the consistently round diameters provide optimum flow through the extruder nozzle.
non tangled filament Continuous Line Production: Filament is extruded and spooled onto the reel in one continuous motion, producing tangle free spools that will unwind freely and smoothly from the start of the roll to the end.
non brittle pla 3d filaments New Non-Brittle Formula: Print with confidence knowing that the filament will not break during a print job, while still inside the printer or just sitting in storage. Our new formula is optimized for strength and performance.
high resolution 3d filaments Ideal for High Resolution Prints: Our filaments will give you outstanding results even when printing at ultra high resolution using the latest 3D printers.
reliable 3d filaments Tested on a Wide Range of 3D Printers: We repeatedly and accurately test our filaments in-house, but more importantly, we act based on feedback from thousands of customers all across Canada (Thank you!)
rohs compliant 3d filaments Compliant, Registered and Certified: Our filaments comply with the Restriction of Hazardous Substance (RoHS) directive and certified by SGS. Why is it important? It basically means the filaments are free from lead and other potentially hazardous substances including cadmium, mercury and chromium VI, among others.
moisture free 3d filaments Moisture Protected Packaging: Some 3D printing materials can be negatively affected by moisture, that's why every product made by us is packed inside an air tight package along with a moisture absorbing desiccant pack. Furthermore, we've taken an extra precautionary step and will also ship you 1 free resealable bag as well as 1 free extra desiccant pack for every spool that you order. Regardless of the type of filament or the manufacturer. This will enable you to easily keep your filaments at an optimal storage condition and free from dust or dirt AFTER opening the original packaging, so its always ready for your next print.
pantone color 3d filaments Produced According to a Standardized Color System: Every colored filament we manufacture is formulated according to a standard color system such as the Pantone Color Matching System. This is important in order to ensure consistent color shade with every batch as well as allowing us to produce specialty colors such as metallic and custom colors.

3d printing temperature guideline Printing
Temperature:

Notes:

230°C - 260°C
  • Set your print bed temperature to approximately 60°C (hotter for the first few layers if possible). If not using a heated bed, try raising your hot-end temperature.
  • To get the optimal temperature; start from 230°C and continue to raise the temperature until the printers starts browning the print regularly, from that point, drop the temperature by a couple of degrees and your set. Make a note for follow-on prints.
  • PETG doesn’t need to be squeezed onto your heated bed, you want to leave a slightly larger gap on the Z axis to allow more room for the plastic to lay down. If the extruder nozzle is too close to the bed, or previous layer it will skim and create stringing and build-up around your nozzle. We recommend starting off moving your nozzle away from the bed in 0.02mm increments, until there is no skimming when printing.
  • Print on glass with glue stick or you favorite printing surface.
  • FAN: Little to no cooling required during the print. We usually turn off the fan for the first layer and then turn it up to a maximum of 15% for the rest of the print.
  • If print is too stringy, also try under-extruding a bit. PETG can be sensitive to over extrusion (blobbing etc.) – if you’re experience this, just bring in the extrusion setting on the slicer ever-so-slightly each time until it stops.
  • No raft. (if the print bed is not heated, consider using brim instead, 5 or more mm wide.)
  • 30-60mm/s print speed
