Get the best of both worlds; High performance at an affordable & sustainable price:
The EconoFil™ series of 3D filaments is truly a unique endeavor; Having accessible, high quality and affordable filament makes it easier for more people to enter into the amazing world of 3D printing. From the start, Filaments.ca's vision has been to bring Canadians unique and popular 3D printing consumables without breaking the bank. EconoFil™ is a testament that even after years in business, this commitment is still very much part of our core values. Seeing the immense popularity recently in budget friendly 3D printing consumables, we're staying true to our vision and giving our customers local access to true competitively priced filaments as seen in other countries like the USA where the market is significantly larger. In fact, our EconoFil™ line is one of the lowest priced 3D filament on the market, and that is no gimmick!
EconoFil™ is the perfect "go-to" filament for everyday 3D printing & prototyping.
NET WEIGHT PER SPOOL: 4 KG (8.8 LB)
We see it frequently and hear it a lot from our customers;
EconoFil™ PLA outperforms any other PLA in its class and price range in Canada!
We at Filaments.ca maintain our own fully controlled and operated warehouse and production facility, we therefore avoid not only the cost of fees associated with marketplaces like Amazon but also the sub-optimal storage conditions for storing moisture-sensitive 3D printing materials.
So not only is EconoFil™ a superior quality product to the ones found on public marketplaces such as Amazon, it also ends up being significantly cheaper, especially for high volume users.
Reliable, consistent & dependable for everyday 3D printing!
PLA is one of the most commonly used 3D printer filament because it is easy to use and is a friendly, nontoxic, bio-degradable material derived from renewable resources such as field corn.
Perfect for those who are new to 3D printing; compared to ABS, it is easy to use, excellent forming, demonstrates much less warping and curling and performs well on almost every type of printing.
PLA is especially ideal for printing objects with flat surfaces, hard angles and ones requiring tight tolerances for fit.
Commonly used for prototypes, educational architectural models, and artifact replicas. It's a popular choice for users looking to paint objects after they have been printed, such as costume props and figurines.
PLA is relatively brittle, so it is not recommended for thin, high strength applications.
PLA filaments should be stored in a cool dry place since PLA tends to absorbs moisture from the atmosphere which can compromise quality and performance.
The Filaments.ca Brand Advantage:
It's the best selling PLA in Canada for a reason! Our premium grade PLA is a result of continually improving formulation based on feedback from our customers & the 3D printing community. Selling in such high volumes gives the Filaments.ca brand an edge over competitors by being able to analyze trends accurately and implement preventive actions to ensure the high quality of our product is maintained and improved.
All our products are stored in and shipped from our own fully controlled facility. Having full control over storage conditions, product packaging as well as maintaining a FIFO (First In First Out) storage system is crucial in maintaining optimal freshness of our 3D printing consumables. Our filaments are free from lead and other potentially hazardous substances including cadmium, mercury and chromium VI, among others.
NET WEIGHT: 4 KG (8.8 LB)
Made from 100% Grade A Food Grade Virgin Raw Materials: We've seen first hand what prints from recycled filaments can look like, issues such as visible discoloration and other inconsistencies are common. From the very beginning, we've always guaranteed in writing that our filaments are made from pure grade virgin resin, giving you consistent high quality prints, beautiful look and feel.
Controlled using Non-Contact Laser Diameter Gauge: Rapid, precise and repeatable measurements to exact dimensional tolerances. Such gauges allow us to maintain consistent high quality filament. So regardless of the 3D printer you are using, the consistently round diameters provide optimum flow through the extruder nozzle.
Continuous Line Production: Filament is extruded and spooled onto the reel in one continuous motion, producing tangle free spools that will unwind freely and smoothly from the start of the roll to the end.
New Non-Brittle Formula: Naturally brittle plastics such as PLA can now be used with confidence knowing that the filament will not break during a print job, while still inside the printer or just sitting in storage. Our new formula reconfigures the polymer building blocks for optimal strength and performance.
Ideal for High Resolution Prints: Our filaments will give you outstanding results even when printing at ultra high resolution using the latest 3D printers.
Tested on a Wide Range of 3D Printers: We repeatedly and accurately test our filaments in-house, but more importantly, we act based on feedback from thousands of customers all across Canada (Thank you!)
Moisture Protected Packaging: Some 3D printing materials can be negatively affected by moisture, that's why every product made by us is packed inside an air tight package along with a moisture absorbing desiccant pack.
Produced According to a Standardized Color System: Every colored filament we manufacture is formulated according to a standard color system such as the Pantone Color Matching System. This is important in order to ensure consistent color shade with every batch as well as allowing us to produce specialty colors such as metallic and custom colors.
