Thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) is a high strength flexible filament. TPU is essentially polyurethane, it belongs to the TPE class of thermoplastics (similar to the stuff NinjaFlex is made out of).

TPU is an elastic, very flexible and soft material that is almost odorless. It is similar to rubberTPU is resistant to oils and grease and it is very resistant to abrasion.

In addition to being stronger compared to other flexible materials on the market, we found TPU to be easier to print with, with great layer to layer bonding.

The shore hardness of our TPU is: 91A

NOTE: Our TPU and TPE filament are NOT the same; The main difference between our TPU and TPE filament is that the density of TPU is approximately thirty percent higher than the density of TPE. If an object is bent/deformed and then released, TPU will go back to its original shape while TPE will struggle more going back to the original shape and if overstretched will deform.

TPU is resistant to oil, grease and abrasions and has many applications including; automotive, power tools, sporting goods, medical devices, drive belts, footwear, inflatable rafts, profile applications, etc. TPU is also a popular material found in outer cases of mobile electronic devices, such as mobile phones.

Our TPU contains no plasticizers and is allergy-friendly and non-irritating to the skin.

TPU is resistant to hydrolysis and microbes.

TPU has an elongation at yield of about 600%.

Additional features:

  • low-temperature performance
  • mechanical properties
  • rubber-like elasticity
  • shear strength
  • oil, grease & abrasion resistance

STORAGE: One large resealable bag with slider + an extra desiccant pack are included with every spool. The bag and extra desiccant are a great way to safely store your filament spool when not in use. It keeps your filament bone dry & free from any dust or dirt particles, so it's always ready for your next print.

3d printing temperature guideline Printing

220°C - 240°C
  • Print slow. Please try printing at 30mm/s or even less.
  • Set your print bed temperature to approximately 75°C-85°C
  • Will stick to most common surfaces such as blue tape etc.
  • Cooling fan: On
  • Performs best in printers with direct-drive extruders.
  • Reduce retraction.
  • When switching from another polymer (such as ABS or PLA) purge thoroughly before starting a print.
