We are thrilled to share that our team at InkSmith has acquired the Filaments.ca and Filabox.ca ecommerce stores. Situated in Kitchener, Ontario, we are eager to integrate these brands into our operations and revitalize their offerings to provide you with the best possible experience moving forward.

The team at Filaments.ca pursued an admirable vision to localize manufacturing, aiming to deliver a highly customized product line made in Canada.  However, the team faced various challenges and ultimately had to cease production of filament. Our acquisition signifies our commitment to revive these  brands and deliver exceptional experience for you moving forward.

Who is InkSmith?

• Since 2016, InkSmith has been at the forefront of educational technology, collaborating with over 7,000 schools, libraries, and makerspaces to introduce 3D printers, laser cutters, and robotics kits into classrooms.
• In response to the COVID-19 crisis, our volunteer efforts to produce 3D-printed face shields for healthcare workers evolved into The Canadian Shield, a massive manufacturing operation that supplied over 16 million shields to Canadian healthcare professionals, with 750,000 shields donated to teachers.
• Our commitment to community collaboration was exemplified through initiatives like "Community Shield," where we partnered with many of you in the 3D printing community. We collectively printed 20,000 headbands that we laser cut shields for and donated to healthcare organizations in need. 
• With a strong presence in government contracts and e-commerce, InkSmith has fulfilled over 150,000 orders in a few short months, demonstrating our expertise, attention to detail, and commitment to our customers.

As we embark on this new venture, we understand the challenges many of you have faced, including order delays and communication gaps. Rest assured, we are committed to addressing these issues.
